Question about hardware authentication with the OS

We developed and XP Embedded image for a customer. It took quite a
bit of time and effort to get the image where they wanted it. They
then took our hard work and when to another hardware vendor. Being my
company is a sucker for punishment that same vendor is now asking for
another image on a different hardware platform. Is there anything I
can do to have the OS ‘check' for a series of characters in the DMI of
the BIOS..and if they aren't there, the machine will pop a message
saying something like…This software is intended to be deployed on a
XXXX machine only.

Is there a 3rd party app that could handle something like this?

I have used the “license option” for another customer but that won't
prevention the machine from loaded an the OS

Thanks!
