How do I delete unwanted IDs from Messenger?

How do I delete unwanted user IDs from Windows Live Messenger? I've recently
had a crash and had to reinstall everything. But when it came time to
resurrect my WLM I'd forgotten my ID and password. I still haven't resolved
that yet but I'm still hacking. In the meantime I have ALL these IDs that
aren't mine. How do I get rid of them?

Greetings,

Just select each ID in the drop down, and choose the 'Forget me' link.

Press 'forget me'

I've been trying to do this and I do not have the forget me, remember me
option any other suggestions

Hi Becky,

More than likely you're using an old ancient version of Windows Messenger then and are
referring to the .NET Passport dialog.

Assuming my assumption is correct, just follow the instructions here:

highlight the user id ; then press delete on your keyboard
