Hello,
I have Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 on my PC and I want to play the game
Riven:The Sequel to Myst. I am aware that it is an old game and it has compatibility issues with Windows XP and higher versions. Therefore, I have followed the steps outlined
here. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work(and yes, the Riven DVD was certainly in the drive when I unsuccessfully launched the game). If I try to run it, nothing will happen.
Anyone help me get it going?
P.S. My friend has Win XP Pro SP2 on his computer. I asked him if he can run Riven. Surprisingly, it worked on his system, even though he hadn't followed the instructions on the page I've linked to. Maybe this old game is compatible with SP2, but not with SP3? Weird.
