My PC has been attacked by viruses, spy-ware all malicious softwar
known to Computers I should think. I tried installing severa
anti-viruses to no avail. My last resort was to format my PC. It
refusing to boot from CD, I changed the BIOS setup to let it boot fro
CD before it boots from hard drive, during boot up, i receive th
message "Boot from CD" but without options on what to do, so I jus
pressed any key. Then it goes to the ctrl-alt-del message. I tried t
copy the setup to a flash drive, but its still refusing to load th
windows installation. I tried logging in safe mode but it goes back t
the screen that asks me how i want to log on(safe mode with comman
prompt, windows Xp etc) all the options always goes back on a loop. onl
when i choose last known configuration that worked does it do something
but only stops responding or freezes after it loads the desktop scree
without loading any desktop icons nor the task bar nor the star
button.

Please help..Im in a fix! :

What you normally do is to set the bios so that the CD is the *firs
boot* device, make sure you save the bios settings, insert the CD an
reboot

You will need to install the mobo chip set drivers after you'v
installed the OS

If you have difficulty you could set the hard drive not to boot a
all... after formatting and installing some files Windows will tell yo
to remove the installation disc and reboot. At this stage go into bio
and set up the hard drive as the first boot device, the rest can b
disabled, since from now on the only device the machine will ever b
booting from is the Hard drive

You get about a second to press any key to boot from the CD, otherwis
it proceeds to the hard drive boot.

If you have any read problems with the CD you get to the hard drive n
matter if you hit any key within the required time.

The fact that you get the CD message indicates that it has priority

If worse case persist, just slave the drive on a known-working machine and Format it that way. Hope this helps. Also, have you tried Hiren's Boot CD?
